The Region

Fruit for this release comes from two exceptional coastal regions: Sonoma and Monterey Counties. Sonoma County vineyards are heavily influenced by lingering fog off the Pacific Ocean, drawn up the Russian River each day. Monterey County vineyards are adjacent to one of the largest underwater canyons in the world, sending brisk cooling winds off the deep, cold bay waters.

For this inaugural release of dough Chardonnay, we hand-picked a few small vineyards, then fermented lots separately to allow each vineyard site to express its unique profile. Our goal at blending was to offer a layered, complex wine that is both palate pleasing and food friendly.”
